The Volunteers of Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Rotaract Club of St. Ann’s, organized Viśudhi – Post-Visarjan Lake Cleanup Drive at Peeramcheruvu Lake, PEBL City, Bandlaguda Jagir. The initiative symbolized purity and renewal, encouraging citizens to give back to nature after the grand Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.
While Ganesh Visarjan is celebrated with devotion and joy, it often leaves behind idol remnants, flowers, and non-biodegradable waste that pollute water bodies. This cleanup drive aimed to restore ecological balance and create awareness about eco-friendly practices. Beginning at 6:30 A.M., volunteers worked tirelessly to collect debris and cleanse the lake premises, reaffirming the importance of environmental responsibility.
The collaboration between Volunteers of Hyderabad and Rotaract Club of St. Ann’s highlighted the spirit of teamwork, community service, and youth leadership. Friends, families, and students joined together, creating an atmosphere of dedication and positivity. Volunteers were awarded certificates as a token of appreciation for their efforts.
The VISUDHI Cleanup Drive served as a reminder that true devotion extends beyond rituals — it lies in protecting the environment that sustains us, aligning with the Rotary focus area of Supporting the Environment. More Photos https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1DblyGw3TGy1ST1zRM93LRNy9jt7dNqku
