RAC GNITS*RAC OP JINDAL JOINT COLLAB-TREES SAPLING

As part of our ongoing quest to uplift communities and promote positive environmental change, our club collaborated with OP Jindal for a sapling distribution and plantation initiative. To ensure long-term survival of the 30 saplings, we identified secure and sustainable planting locations where they will not be removed or disturbed. Falcon Valley remains a promising option due to its protected layout and community stewardship. Additional recommended sites include the peripheral green belts of local government schools, unused corners of public parks, and designated plantation zones near GHMC walking tracks, where maintenance is supported by local authorities and the public has limited interference.

To source the required saplings affordably, we explored nurseries and community-based initiatives offering free or low-cost plants. The Telangana Forest Department nurseries, Haritha Haram distribution centers, and local panchayat-supported nurseries often provide saplings either free of cost or at subsidized rates for community projects. Private nurseries such as those in Shamirpet and Kompally also offer bulk discounts for institutions.

This initiative aims not only to increase green cover but also to engage youth in responsible environmental action, ensuring that each sapling planted contributes meaningfully to a greener, healthier community. More Photos https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1YuFuau4vV3IIKgI7HXw11_YMf5lMUpaz
