The December Food Drive was a compassionate community service initiative organized to support homeless individuals and stray animals during the harsh winter season. Recognizing that winter significantly impacts those without shelter or reliable access to food, Rotaract members came together to create a small yet meaningful impact through collective action.
The drive focused on distributing food to people living on the streets as well as feeding stray dogs and cats in need. Members and volunteers contributed cooked meals, rice, biscuits, packaged food, dog and cat food, and monetary donations. On the day of the event, participants gathered at the designated location and actively took part in distributing food across nearby areas, ensuring it reached those who needed it the most.
The initiative was open to both Rotaractors and non-Rotaractors, encouraging broader community involvement and reinforcing the spirit of service above self. Beyond addressing hunger, the drive fostered empathy, responsibility, and social awareness among participants.
The December Food Drive served as a reminder that even a single act of kindness can bring warmth, dignity, and hope to someone’s day—proving that collective compassion can make winter a little more survivable for the most vulnerable.
