Project Overview – Threads of Culture (Rotaract International Collaboration)
The Rotaract Club of GNITS successfully executed Threads of Culture, an international collaborative project celebrating India’s diverse handloom heritage. A total of 11 Rotaract Clubs from across the country joined hands to represent the traditional weaves and local textiles of their respective states.
Each participating club conducted detailed research on the history and cultural significance of their chosen weave, curated photographs and visual references, and compiled individual video segments highlighting local artisans, fabrics, and styling traditions. These contributions were brought together into a unified feature video, offering a vivid, state-wise journey through India’s textile legacy — from looms to legacy.
This initiative stood as a heartfelt tribute to Indian craftsmanship, uniting culture and sustainability through collaboration. Rotaract GNITS takes pride in supporting the ‘Vocal for Local’ movement, empowering tradition, craftsmanship, and cultural continuity.
